About
Ana Teresa Silva is an award-winning Portuguese writer and journalist who has spent more than 30 years giving voice to stories that awaken, inspire, and transform.
As an independent journalist, she has dedicated her career to sharing the people, projects, and ideas shaping a more conscious, sustainable, and harmonious world. She began in radio and television, covering historic events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall, and later created and co-authored several television programs and documentaries. Her work has included directing Microsoft’s health and well-being editorial platform in Portugal, co-creating and presenting Portugueses +, a television series about Portuguese people making their mark around the world, and co-creating A Família Galaró, a 60-episode children’s series for RTP.
In 2008, she founded IM Magazine, an international digital publication that, for over a decade, inspired readers in 145 countries by featuring “the best in the world for a better world.” Celebrated by global changemakers such as Paul Hawken, Marcello Palazzi, and Dr. Daniel Wahl, IM Magazine became a reference in solutions-based journalism. For two years, the project also extended to television through a regular live segment on SIC Mulher, where Ana Teresa introduced inspiring Portuguese people and projects contributing to positive change in the world.
Her most recent international documentary series, Roots & Fruits (RTP), is a 12-episode exploration of the roots of genius and the legacies that enrich humanity. It features remarkable figures including Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Carol Guzy, a chef awarded seven Michelin stars, and descendants of Picasso, Freud, and Chaplin.
As a writer, Ana Teresa moves fluidly between poetry, children’s literature, and fiction. She is the author of ten published books, with her words crossing borders through a Spanish edition (Mañana Será Otro Día) and an English edition (The Truth). Her writing embodies the convergence of her many paths, journalism, psychology, expressive arts, and spiritual inquiry, woven into a unique literary alchemy.
Guided by the conviction that outer change begins with inner transformation, Ana Teresa has also dedicated herself to exploring practices that integrate body, mind, heart, and soul. She is a certified facilitator of Biodanza, Meditation, and Therapeutic Playback Theatre, and holds regular groups and retreats. She also trains others in Creative and Fiction Writing, accompanying them on journeys of self-expression, creativity, and awakening.
Bridging storytelling and transformation, Ana Teresa Silva continues to create spaces, on the page, on screen, and in life, where truth can be danced, spoken, and lived.
